TOP TEN WEARABLE FASHION TRENDS FOR SPRING 2013

I thought that I would do something different for this post. I've never really seen myself as someone who's very much into fashion and in on the latest trends, but now that I have this blog I think that I should dabble in it a little. This is my opinion of this seasons trends! All photos are from Glamour.

Bermuda Shorts
If I'm honest, I'm quite glad that these on trend this season. Personally, I wouldn't wear these as I'm not confident in my body, but it will be nice to not see girls wearing short shorts with half of their butt cheek out. With these, you can be comfortable and fashionable at the same time. You can jazz them up a little by wearing heels like they do on the catwalk, or you can go casual and wear flats. I like these, but if your on a spending ban then why not find an old pair of trousers/jeans that you don't wear any more and cut them to your preferred length. Not only will you be on trend, but this way you will have a one of a kind pair of Bermuda Shorts.

Black and White
Whether you're on a budget this month or you fancy a splurge, you can be in on this trend. You can keep it simple by just wearing a monochrome top, or you can incorporate it throughout your whole outfit. I like this trend because it is simple and no matter what size you are, we can do it! If you're looking for something simple, try this! Or if you're looking for something more edgy and unique, try this!

Peekaboo Pieces
This is something I wouldn't wear. The thought of my 'love handles' coming out the sides of my dress really isn't sexy haha. To all of you lucky people who have nice bodies, I totally encourage you to try out this trend. You'll show enough skin to make it sexy and not slutty. For something more subtle, try this. For something that shows off your body, try this.

Statement Sunglasses
I don't know about you but I love sunglasses. A few years ago, I used to have this obsession with them and everytime I went into Primark I would buy a pair. Luckly I didn't go in their very often, but I did get a good collection going but most of them broke haha. Anyway, I shall be totally jumping on this bandwagon! I really like these but if you want something more out there, try these!

Bold Stripes
I find that vertical stripes really don't flatter my body shape, but I would definitely but up for trying horizontal stripes! The good thing about stripes is that you can dress them up, like this or you could dress them down with something like this.

Luxe Leather
I don't think I will be wearing any type of leather this season. Fat people + leather = server chafing. I would be too scared to to wear it just in case I got really sweaty or something haha. I think if I was going to try out this trend, I would go for a jacket with like leather panels on the elbow or something like this. Dress it down with something like this and this, or you could dress it up a little with something like this and some accessories.

Beautiful Beading
Beading on clothing is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I think it can jazz up anything, but only to a certain extent. Sometimes I have seen some clothes look so tacky because of how much beading has gone onto that item. I will probably be wearing this trend! I really like this and looove this, and this is really beautiful.

Short Suits
I kind of don't understand suits on girls. I mean, sometimes they can look really nice and can actually look like a playsuit, but sometimes they don't compliment a figure and look like someone has put them in a suit made out of bin bags. I think I will be sticking to play suits, but don't let me stop you. If short suits tickle your pickle, why not try something like this.

Sporty Dresses
I really like these style of dresses. Sometimes they can be quite boxy looking, so just chuck a belt on and you're ready to go! I personally would wear something like this or this. If you're on a spending ban and you own an a line skirt, why not wear that tucked into a top.

Flats and low heels
I remember starting a new school in year 6 and I had new shoes which had a kitten heel. I was walking into my classroom after assembly and falling flat on my face and have only worn heel once since then. I simply don't trust myself with any sort of heeled shoe so won't be wearing low heels haha. I do wear boots with a little heel though as it makes me feel like I have more support, which let's be honest I clearly need. I am currently living in these, which I had for Christmas from Accessorize but they're not on their website anymore. I think these are incredibly cute!

NAKED 2 PALETTE

£36.00 from Debenhams*

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past year, you would of heard about Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette. This is the second of the naked palette (hence the name) and has more cooler tones than the first. This comes with a doubled ended brush, a flat shader and a crease brush. It also comes with a sample size Lip Junkie lip gloss in Naked. It took me a while to finally get my hands on this palette, but I have literally used it every single time I've worn makeup. This is the second time I have jumped on the Naked palette bandwagon, and once again haven't regretted it. The shadows are highly pigmented and have a silk-like feel to them. I find them easy to blend and if you tap you're brush, you hardly get any fall out. They have no scent as you would expect from an eyeshadow. It comes with 12 shades and five exclusive new shades. The shadows are (L - R):
  • Foxy (Matte)
  • Half Baked (Shimmer)
  • Bootycall (Frost)
  • Chopper (Shimmer)
  • Tease (Matte) Exclusive
  • Snakebite (Shimmer) Exclusive
  • Suspect (Shimmer)
  • Pistol (Shimmer) Exclusive
  • Verve (Shimmer)
  • YDK (Shimmer)
  • Busted (Shimmer)
  • Blackout (Matte
I prefer the packaging of the Naked 2 to the original. The original seemed to attract mess and didn't seem as durable as the second. The fact that it's metal kind of gives it that high-end feel. I love this palette and I prefer it to the original as I like the cooler shades in it. Something that I don't like about it is the fact that they both have Half Baked in them. I understand that it's a popular shade but I think that there should be another matte in it. Other than that, it is amazing and I can over look this haha. I would totally recommend it to anybody and if for some reason I manage to use it all up, I would buy this palette again. Thanks for reading, have you tried this palette? What do you think of it? MY BLOODY VALENTINE'S DAY GRADIENT NAIL TUTORIAL

To all of you that are loved up, Happy Valentine's Day! To all of you that are single, Happy Bitterness Day! Haha. Valentine's Day is going to be just another day for me this year, but one thing I am not looking forward to is all the status/posts/tweets on Facebook/Tumblr/Twitter, claiming that they're all 'forever alone'.. and that's just all the 15 year olds haha. Rant aside, I thought I would do a sort of 'anti Valentine's Day' nail tutorial as all the nail tutorials I have seen lately are pink and full of hearts. This is for all of you that are looking for something different! Wow, I do sound quite bitter in the post, I promise I'm not.. sort of haha.

What you will need:

  • Your favourite red polish
  • Your favourite black polish
  • Your favourite topcoat
  • Your favorite basecoat
  • A sponge
  • A dotting tool or cocktail stick
  • A plastic sheet or a poly pocket

Step 1: Apply a base coat and 2 coats of your favourite red polish. I'm using Ciate Paint Pot in Mistress

Step 2: On your plastic sheet or poly pocket, apply a generous amount of red polish and your favourite black polish. I'm using Rimmel London I Heart Lasting Finish in Black Cab. Make sure both polishes meet together in the middle.

Step 3: Using your dotting tool/cocktail stick, mix together both colours in the middle. A little tip I shall give you is to make sure you do step 2 and 3 quite quickly so that there isn't a sort of dry layer on the top.

Step 4: Put the sponge into the polish. Sorry I don't have a photo for this guys, I totally forgot!

Step 5: Dab the sponge onto your nail. Go up and down your nail, still dabbing, to get the gradient effect that you want.

Step 6: Apply your favourite topcoat and if you're feeling adventurous, chuck some glitter on those nails!

RED, GOLD AND SILVER GLITTER NAIL TUTORIAL

For as long as I can remember I have bitten my nails. I am stupidly shy so I've always put it down nerves. As I'm getting older now, I need to get out of the habit. For Christmas, my Mam paid for me to have acrylics done on Christmas Eve and I haven't bitten them since, yay me! I finally took them off yesterday and to stop me from biting them, I decided to make them pretty. I didn't really have anything in mind and just went with it, so I thought I would do a little tutorial for you guys.

I first applied a base coat which I would never normally do, but I want to start taking care of my nails properly as they so stupidly weak. I then applied two coats of Ciate's Dangerous Affair (little review here). The colour of the polish in the bottle is what it looks like on your nails but I had my flash on.

Next, I applied Barry M Nail Paint in Yellow Topaz Glitter on just under half of the nail. The glitter has chunks of hexagon shaped glitter and fine glitter mixed together, which I sometimes have trouble applying evenly.

Finally, I applied Barry M Nail Paint in Silver Glitter (review here) over the top of the gold for more texture and variety. I probably should of done it the other way round, but I think it looks okay.

I love looking at my nails in the light. I love looking at all the different colours and I find myself doing it a lot. Simple things, simple minds haha. I hope I have inspired you to chuck a load of glitter on your nails! What is your favourite glitter polish? Let me know below!
